The Paleo diet also seems to have been embraced in particular by those with a gluten or dairy intolerance. In fact the authors of both books in this collection have suffered from colitis . The Paleo Diet is based on the eating habits of our Paleolithic ancestors. It consists of foods that can be hunted and fished, such as meat and seafood, and foods that can be gathered, such as fruits, vegetables, nuts and eggs. The 85:15 rule allows you to indulge in three non-Paleo meals per week. The exclusion of grains from this diet makes it impossible for vegans or vegetarians to follow.
